the turkish correction (chakir turkish linens bath towels 4-pack)
100% ring-spun Turkish cotton bath towels from Denizli — the material argument against whatever came with the lease.
the experience
julian doesn’t understand why i’m replacing towels that are technically functional. i explained that a towel made from ring-spun turkish cotton grown and woven in denizli has a fiber density and absorbency that the thin, boardy, polyester-blend rectangles currently hanging in the bathroom cannot approximate. these are 27 by 54 inches, which is an actual bath towel size rather than the managed-community interpretation of one. the weight is substantial — the kind where you can feel the difference between cotton that was spun long and cotton that was chopped short and blended with whatever was cheaper. they soften with washing rather than pilling into lint. they absorb rather than pushing water around. gray, because gray is what happens when you don’t want the towels to be the loudest thing in the room but you also refuse to live with white towels that will document every encounter with mascara.
